This was a winter fishing trip during the weekend of the 9th August with David and Debbie. We all went in the bus together. Andy and Helen Flett also came with us but travelled in their own car. We caught up with them at our destination of the Twizel canal above Lake Ruataniwha. We got caught on the way by frozen snow and ice at the start of the Kilmog hills, from a snow storm the day before. Had to sit and wait behind a line of trucks for 3 quarters of an hour, while the sun rose and grit was laid before it was finally safe to move on. Debbie did a great job driving and once we were over the other side it was all plain sailing.
On the way home we stopped off at our campsite at Lake Aviemore. It was so strange to see it looking so open with no campers or caravans etc.

Up early this morning to meet the royals at Dunedin Airport

Jaylas Birthday is actually next weekend but celebrated early as the next weekend is Easter and we will all be at Lake Aviemore
